FE College Regionalisation – Curriculum Development
Following the Scottish Governments announcement on their ambitions for Post-16 Education and the resultant changes that will have a major impact on FE colleges in Scotland, it is apparent that each Regional Grouping will have to standardise their curriculum provision at both regional and national levels.
BCS aim to work in partnership with FE Colleges in Scotland to support them in the challenges they face in developing a curriculum provision that meets the needs of the local community and addressing the ambitions of the national strategy for Post-16 Education.
All Regional Groups will have carried out a comprehensive review of their curriculum plans, and it will be apparent that each partner college offer a diverse and suitable range of programmes and services that are appropriate to the needs of their learners and key stakeholders. However, the main challenge relating to the national curriculum for post-16 Education is to provide a sustainable provision.
BCS consultants have gained valuable experience working in the FE sector and with awarding bodies over a number of years, and have been actively involved in the development of qualifications within the SCQF framework.
